At Ronald McDonald House Charities, families with seriously ill or injured children are able to stay at a place that feels like home, filled with compassion, comfort, and hope.
In each one of our four Oregon Houses, we believe in the power of helping children and families access more care when they need it most.
At RMHC, we believe in making our Houses comfortable places – because everyone needs a place to rest and take a deep breath during a stressful time. We believe in making our Houses compassionate places – because finding moments of joy can be good for the soul. And we believe in making our Houses hopeful – because hospitals have doctors and nurses, but RMHC has parents, siblings, and caregivers.
Twins Ethan and Ember were born early, at only 28 weeks gestation. Making a stressful time even more intense, they needed to grow stronger at separate hospitals. While mom and dad were forced to split their time between two babies and two hospitals, they were able to travel between two of our Ronald McDonald Houses and receive the comfort and hope they so desperately needed in both locations.
“We really appreciate the Ronald McDonald House and are blessed that we were able to stay there so we weren’t far away from our little ones. It was such a long time spent at the Houses, and we saw so many families come and go. We were so happy when our time finally came to go home.” -Mom to Ethan and Ember
While hosting a family costs Ronald McDonald House Charities over $150 a night, our guest families are never asked to pay. And right now, thanks to an extremely generous offer by longtime friend of RMHC, Kiersten Shaw, your gift will be doubled up to $10,000. That means more than 125 families can have the comforts of home free of charge – thanks to you!
