Hospitality à la Carte

Providing Comfort on Wheels

A family with a seriously ill child can spend long hours and many days at the hospital. At these times, simple comforts can be hard to come by — a toothbrush, a cookie, or a toy to play with.

Our in-hospital Hospitality à la Carte program delivers sweets, treats, games, and toys to these families with the compassionate hospitality and community support that has made us famous — all at no cost.

For us, this is a way to extend the warmth and friendliness we’re known for beyond the walls of our four Oregon Ronald McDonald Houses and provide those families who need a little extra comfort. It’s also a conversation-starter: a way to spread the word about who we are, what we do, and how we help families in need.

Throughout 2018, our Hospitality Cart rolled through the hallways of Randall Children’s Hospital, delivering hot drinks and toiletries for parents, and snacks and toys for kids by the thousands. By mid-2018, our Hospitality à la Carte program expanded to Salem Health Medical Center and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and in 2019 expanded even more to the St. Charles Medical Center in Bend – exponentially increasing our reach and bringing thousands of smiles to children and families across the region.
