2020 Hockey Challenge Kid Captains Emmalee & Gavin Cardoza

“It was such a comfort and relief to know that our family could be together during the many surgeries and extended stays in the hospital…” – Anne Cardoza (mom)

The Cardoza family has stayed with RMHC so many times, they’ve lost count. Their daughter, Emmalee, needed multiple surgeries and therapy sessions when diagnosed with a laryngeal cleft. It was so important for their family to stay together, as their son Gavin, has a disability and would be anxious if he was away from his mom and sister. RMHC allowed their family to stay together and truly felt like a home away from home.

The kiddos’ favorite moments were making art in the craft area and playing video games with the Portland Trail Blazers!
