Located on the 7th, 8th and 9th floors of the gorgeous OHSU Rood Family Pavilion, this state-of-the-art urban high-rise features stunning views of the Willamette River, downtown Portland, and the forested hills. Opened in 2019, the Portland South Waterfront House is a magical experience for children and families with 38 peaceful, private rooms, beautiful community spaces, a one-of-a-kind ¾ acre rooftop garden, and much more.

The Portland South Waterfront House has all the amenities to make you feel at home, including: 

  • 38 guest suites with amazing views, private bathrooms and fully stocked linens, towels, and toiletries.
  • Free food including access to an expansive in-House food pantry, a grab and go snack bar and a weekly meal calendar including free family dinners at least three nights/week.
  • Weekly program offerings that can include music, guided crafts, pet-assisted therapy, and themed meals.
  • Access to beautiful common spaces including the rooftop garden, game and music rooms, a fitness room, sitting areas and a beautiful multi-family kitchen and dining room.
  • Fantastic play spaces and family rooms filled with ping pong, foosball, games, movies, books, crafts, and more. 
  • 24-hour staffing and daily “concierge” services provided by staff and volunteers.

A home is more than a place to stay: it's a sanctuary.

At our Portland South Waterfront House, you and your family have a private room where you can stay together, comfort each other, and find peace together. Our rooms can fit as many as six family members for the duration of your stay. This isn’t a hotel. It’s your home and we have all the amenities you might need, including:

  • Televisions, microwaves, and small refrigerators in every guest room.
  • Full on-site laundry facilities on each floor.
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout the House.
  • Library and business center with free computer access.
  • A communal kitchen to cook your own meals when you wish.
  • Cabinet and refrigerator space to store food.
  • A community of support – our volunteers and staff are here to make your life as comfortable as possible. We’re in your corner.
