Spencer Blanchard

2020 Hockey Challenge Kid Captain

Spencer was officially diagnosed with metastatic neuroblastoma, a type of cancer, on May 17, 2019.

Since then he has received multiple rounds of chemotherapy treatment. It’s been a difficult year — from not being able to spend as much time outside or with friends, to being in the hospital for his birthday and Thanksgiving.

RMHC helped to provide a place for Spencer’s family to be close to him during treatments. This was a big emotional support to Spencer and helped him endure treatment with more positivity and peace.

Spencer loves hiking and camping, being with friends and family, and serving people. It’s not uncommon for him to share his treasures from the RMHC toy closet with a friend just to see them smile!
